Built around your research

Work with traceable vehicle listing observations

Scope a vehicle advertisement dataset for inventory research, comparable asking prices or market monitoring. A useful record distinguishes the vehicle from the advertisement and preserves the original mileage unit, currency and seller type. The amount displayed in an advertisement is an asking price rather than a verified transaction price. Source availability, vehicle identifiers and repeat-observation coverage must be agreed for the chosen country and marketplace.

01

Build comparable vehicle groups

Select make, model, year, body type and other supported specifications. Keep variant and mileage definitions explicit so unlike vehicles are not treated as direct comparables.

02

Research dealer inventory

Organize publicly advertised stock by seller and location. Deduplicate repeated advertisements for the same vehicle when a reliable identifier or supporting evidence is available.

03

Study advertised price changes

Request dated observations for an agreed set of listings. Removed advertisements need an unknown or delisted status unless the source explicitly confirms a completed sale.

Define vehicle identity and price context

Specify which makes, models, age ranges and seller types should be included. VIN or another public vehicle identifier can help deduplication when the source provides it; missing identifiers should stay missing. Record mileage units, currency and whether displayed prices exclude particular charges. Different trims, condition statements and financing-only offers should not be silently grouped into one comparable-price series.

Review source access and observation limits

A market-wide inventory requires a suitable source and agreed coverage, not just a list of example advertisements. This specification does not represent an existing automotive inventory feed. Explain whether the project needs a one-time snapshot, repeat observations or a historical archive. Pricing estimates, verified sale amounts, ownership information and inferred sale dates are outside a standard public-listing observation unless separately supported.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a ready-made download?

This page defines a dataset specification. Contact Extracto to confirm source coverage, available records, price and delivery timing for your requirements. A displayed sample is a saved example with its own location and collection date.

Do asking prices show what buyers actually paid?

No. Advertised prices describe the offer displayed by the source. Completed-sale prices require a source that explicitly provides transaction evidence and would need their own coverage agreement.

Does a removed listing mean the car sold?

A listing can disappear because it expired, was withdrawn, moved or sold. Record the observed removal state separately and only label a completed sale when a suitable source confirms it.

Is a vehicle scraper already included?

A dedicated used-car collection source and workflow need to be confirmed for this specification. Share target marketplaces and fields so feasibility can be reviewed before any dataset volume or delivery is agreed.
